Short calls punish rounding; long calls forgive it
For the hotel, most answered calls lasted under a minute, so rounding nearly doubled Model 1's billed minutes and the ₹4 rate ended up costing more per real minute than the ₹8 per-second rate. The same happened, more mildly, for the coaching institute.
For the builder, calls ran two minutes, rounding added little, and Model 1 produced the smallest bill. That is a fair result, and if your calls are long and you have people to build and run the agent, a low self-serve rate can be the right choice.
Model 2 was the most expensive in every case, because every part of the call is billed and priced in dollars. It suits engineering teams who want full control, not most Agra businesses.

Listed price vs real bill: questions
Is the cheapest AI calling rate always the cheapest bill?
No. With short calls, per-minute rounding can make a low rate cost more per real minute than a higher rate billed per second. With long calls, a low rate can genuinely produce the smallest bill.
Why did the hotel and the builder get different answers?
Hotel confirmations are short, so rounding nearly doubled the billed minutes. Builder qualification calls run about two minutes, so rounding added little.
Why are dollar-priced developer platforms more expensive per minute?
They bill the phone line, speech, AI model and voice separately, and the rupee price moves with the exchange rate.
